What happens when you meet a master of fly fishing at the Vail GoPro Games? You find a way to get on the water with them.
This is exactly what happened when we met Dave from Eagle River Outfitter this spring. Sure, he knows where the trout are stacked and how to match the hatch. More importantly, he and his crew of experts are the kind of people you want to spend eight hours on the water with, rain or shine. Isn’t that what fly fishing is all about?

So, we made it happen. A few of us, including Dave’s three-year-old daughter, spent a crisp fall day exploring two different stretches of the Arkansas River. Some of us caught fish, some of us took an accidental dip. And even with a bit of rain in the morning, we all lucked out to get one of the most beautiful days marveling in Colorado’s changing colors.
Our OG overalls are built for days like this. Made from a lightweight, quick-drying stretch fabric, these overalls are born for unpredictable weather when you need to layer up and down depending on if the sun decides to come out—and every piece in our new Waffle Line is designed to layer perfectly under our overalls.
Together, they’re the ultimate fly-fishing combo: quick-dry overalls and a performance base layer that move with you from the first cast to the last light. Adventure-ready, river-tested, and built for wherever the day (and yes, the river) flows.
Here’s how the story ends: We pulled out upwards of 20 fish, and our most caught fisherman was actually a bad ass woman who just started casting that day.
Take it from us… Next time you’re at the Vail GoPro Games and you meet a fly fishing guide who is also a great hang, make a point to become their friend.
